Workshop Description:

Have you ever felt like a chameleon trying to adapt to various challenges and consumers? Does it leave you exhausted – emotionally, physically, and mentally? Join us as we discover what it means to have emotional intelligence, identify triggers, and learn strategies to guard and strengthen our hearts and minds.

At the conclusion of this workshop, the attendees will be able to:

  1. Identify and compare characteristics of emotional intelligence;
  2. Analyze and determine personal responses to personal triggers and identify body responses; and
  3. Demonstrate understanding of strategies taught to increase emotional intelligence and build resiliency by practicing in workshop.

About your presenter:

A certified interpreter for the past 26 years, Marci Purtell, BEI Master, RID NIC, currently works as a Regional Manager for Sorenson Communications. She taught Deaf Education for 8 years after earning her bachelors in Deaf Education from Texas Woman’s University in 1993. After completing her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2001, she left the classroom and worked as a community interpreter and counselor.

ICRID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for continuing education activities. This General Studies program is offered for 0.2 CEUs at the Little/None  Content Knowledge Level.
