The African American Experience: A Perspective on Language, Culture, and Race

This workshop will address many topics of race, language (ASL & English), norms, culture, myths, communication, power  and privilege, conflict, history, and social standards within the African American & Black Deaf and hearing communities. We will also be joined by a panel of Black Deaf community members, and a panel of Black hearing interpreters to share their insights and experiences.
