If You’re Not Using Classifiers, It’s Not ASL W/S#1

This activity will familiarize participants on the importance of incorporating classifiers into their expressive use of ASL and will allow for complete comprehension of the intended content of the message. Increased comfort with the use of classifiers and continued practice will ensure that the intended message is clearer and more descriptive. Group discussion and reviewing videos with practice time for role play will help participants to see if what they are signing would be understood clearly by the target audience.

Delivering Culturally Accurate Voicing W/S#2

This activity will familiarize participants on the importance of delivering a culturally accurate voiced interpretation and will allow for complete comprehension of the intended content of the message. Increased awareness and practice will ensure that all voicing is culturally accurate, therefore removing misunderstandings or potential conflict in the intended message. Group discussion and reviewing videos with practice time for voicing will help participants to see if what they are voicing would be understood clearly by the target audience.
